A Abrasion The grinding effect on the surface of material that is caused by friction with another object.
Acceleration The rate of change of speed calculated by differentiating speed by time. Also, acceleration is proporional to force.
Acceleration of Gravity On earth, motionless objects dropped from the same point will accelerate downward at the same speed. This is because the earth's gravity is pulling the object downward. Accleration g of a falling object will vary according to the point of origin; however, the approximate rate is g=9.8m/sec2.
Angle of Misalignment The angle of error formed by the centers of two shafts coupled to each other but not on the same line.
Arm Any arm-shaped member, such as an arm or lever, that supports an object.
