本機は、1915～1925年頃に数百台しか作られなかったと伝わるブラウン&シャープ社の自動ねじ切り旋盤である。1870年代にタレットとカム機構を用いて開発されたが、その後継機となる。同社博物館から購入したい話もあった機械でもある。

This machine is an automatic thread cutting lathe manufactured by Brown & Sharpe. It is said that they only made a few hundred units between 1915 & 1925. The thread cutting lathe was developed in the 1870s, using a turret and cam mechanism. This machine is the successor to that early model. We once received a request from the manufacturer’s own museum to buy it back.
