Ryohei Ogawa founded Ogawa Seisakusho in 3-128, Tabata, Kita-ku, Tokyo, with the goal of manufacturing aircraft wing parts and caterpillar components.
The company name was changed to Sankyo Seisakusho, Ltd.
Production of automotive parts and household electrical components began.
The company underwent an organizational change and Sankyo Seisakusho Co., Ltd. was established.
Developed shrink tunnel packaging machinery (Patent No. 121463), marking the first patent application by Sankyo Seisakusho. (Figure 1)
Started research on intermittent indexing devices using roller
gear cam mechanisms and filed basic patents related
to the indexing devices.
Succeeded in developing Japan's first roller
gear cam-type indexing drive (Patented).
Launched the D-series indexing drive model,
which uses a shaft-type output. (Figure 2)
Began production of ampoule foreign particle
inspection machine AIM
(Patent for the developed swing synchronization device) (Figure 3).
Sankyo indexing devices were adopted for drive units
in large high-speed mounting machines.
Developed the Variax M1 press material feeding device (Figure 4)
(Patent No. 1376660).
Established the Shizuoka Factory in Kikugawa,
Shizuoka Prefecture
(54,000 m²).
Developed and launched the world’s smallest
pick-and-place unit, FS.
Developed the world’s fastest press material
feeding devices, Variax V60A and V70M.
Released the world’s smallest ultra-compact indexing drive, 2.8D.
Expanded the Shizuoka Factory,
becoming the world’s largest cam-only factory.
Ryohei Ogawa became Chairman and Hirohumi Ogawa was appointed President (Figure 5).
Sankyo America, Inc. was established in Ohio, USA (Figure 6).
Established the Shizuoka Second Factory, completing a connecting bridge between the first and second factories.
Expanded the Shizuoka Second Factory. The new building won the 24th Chubu Architecture Award.
The Shizuoka Factory won the 12th Japan Greening Center Chairman’s Award.
